It means, “a journey for pleasure in which several different places are visited.” Many people immediately think “group” or “guided” when a tour package is mentioned. Guided or group tours are an excellent choice for some travelers, but almost all travelers will benefit from a tour package. The exception would be a traveler staying at an all-inclusive resort or on a cruise who has no intention of leaving the resort grounds or cruise ship.
