 LUX Inclusive Travel was launched in response to the travel industry's saturation of Online Travel Agencies (OTA's) disguised as "Do It Yourself and Save" booking sites. While these OTA's are being paid by vendors to provide the service of a Travel Advisor, the consumers are required to do the research and coordinate itineraries on their own. Any knowledgeable Travel Advisor will have access to the same things for the same price. The difference is that you have an expert looking out for you who knows these travel products, and who knows what is different between various rates. 

Knowing the difference for destinations all over the world is hard work and that is only a very small piece of the job. We work as hard as we do because the level of service we provide requires it. As a result of the time it takes to provide the kind of service you only remember in a nostalgic way, we must do much less business. That was a purposeful decision before we even decided that Lux Inclusive Travel was going to be the name of the agency. 

The way we see it, vacations are damn expensive, so you deserve the kind of personalized service we provide. As cliché as it may sound, we would not love the work as much as we do if we didn't get the level of satisfaction that providing unparalleled service brings us. If our clients came home upset, disappointed, or even indifferent, this job would suck. Being a Travel Advisor doesn't pay much, so if you don't love it, you don't do it. Period. Our extra work may not bring us monetary reward, but the satisfaction of hearing a client rave about how wonderful their vacation was... that gives us pride and purpose. We're old school in our work ethic and we're old school with our service standards, but we're not that old!

 While  online travel agencies (OTAs) might boast "lowest prices," the truth is, your experienced Travel Advisor has access to the same pricing. If your advisor is not presenting you the cheapest version of the product, there is a reason - and it's not price. If there is a substantial difference in rate types, they will go over the differences with you. Beyond price, it's you knowledgeable Travel Advisor's job to prioritize ensuring your travel experience matches your needs and to minimizes potential risks. Sometimes the cheapest version of a product doesn't meet one or both of those priorities. 

With travel products you really do get what you pay for. If someone is seemingly selling the same product for less, 99% chance it's not really the same product. It may have the same name, but with a hotel room, an airline seat, a tour, a cruise, etc.there are many ways to sell it.

If it doesn't say anywhere what the difference is, you can assume it's the contract with the vendor. If the agency is willing to add risk to a product, the vendor will offer a slightly lower rate

You pay for the services of a Travel Advisor when you book with an online travel agency (OTA) or directly from the provider, because a commissions is baked into the final cost. That is for an OTC or a Travel Advisor, and if you book directly with the vendor they just make more profit. You'll never get a discount for doing everything yourself.
